Crafted in the late 19th century, this antique Persian Bidjar rug is known as an “iron rug” for good reason, it’s built tough and ready for anything. Its lattice-like design is filled with intricate shapes, each with a ground color that has aged into a mellow dragon fruit tone, paired with delicate floral details and pops of French blue that keep the design lively.

The main border band, framed by two slimmer ones with repeating floral motifs, has an eye symbol in alternating colors, traditionally used to protect against the evil eye. The dyes come from natural sources like plants, vegetables, and flowers, that have softened beautifully over more than a century.
