HOT ! M\'rirt\'s Modernized Vibrant Boujad

This rug was designed and will be woven by a group of artisans from a village just outside Beni M’rirt, located in Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains.

Led by Soukina, this collective of 35 artisans has been crafting exquisite handwoven pieces since the early 2000s, when her late mother founded the group.

Specializing in medium- to high-pile hand-knot rugs, a style deeply rooted in the region’s tradition, their work is renowned for its thick knotting technique, which gives each rug its signature plush texture.

Made from 100% “live” wool and dyed using natural methods by a third-generation family of dye artisans, every rug is rich in character and craftsmanship.

The design is inspired by traditional Boujad rugs, known for their expressive color palettes and abstract motifs that often symbolize fertility, protection, and life transitions—a modern reinterpretation of a deeply historic form.
