HOT ! Vintage Persian Qashqai Rug

The Qashqai are a nomadic tribe from the Fars Province of southwestern Iran, migrating twice a year across the Zagros Mountains between highland summer pastures and lowland winter grazing grounds. They have a saying: \"Where I am is my carpet. Where my carpet and I am is my home.\" For a people who travelled hundreds of kilometres each year, the rug wasn\'t décor, it was home, carried on their backs between worlds.

This rug is hand-knotted from hand-spun wool on a cotton foundation. The Qashqai\'s sheep graze the richest pasture routes in the region, which means the wool is naturally lanolin-rich with a softness and sheen that only deepens with age. Qashqai weavers work entirely from memory, passing down patterns through generations but interpreting them personally, which is why no two rugs are the same.
