- Hand-finished by skilled artisans, the 2 Year Wash denim is carefully distressed to achieve the look and feel of denim worn naturally over time. Designed as a head start to the fading process, the jeans will continue to fade and evolve with wear. Omoto weaves their signature selvedge denim on Sakamoto shuttle looms dating back to the 1950s. A relic of old-world manufacturing, the Sakamoto loom uses a wooden shuttle operating at the lowest-possible tension, the machine yields a rugged texture unattainable through modern production methods. The jeans are woven using yarns spun with a careful combination of short-staple Memphis and long-staple Zimbabwe cotton fibers, a recipe developed through trial and error in combination with decades of experience in the denim industry. Each pair is finished with an interior laundry tag, made to document the wearer’s journey- a testament to the brand’s slow-fashion philosophy.
