French Country Louis XV Armchair in Vintage Waverly “Rochelle” Bird & Floral Fabric | Custom Upholstery by Calico | From a Posh Austin, Texas Estate

A vibrant statement chair upholstered in the beloved Waverly “Rochelle” fabric, sourced from a posh Austin, Texas estate and custom upholstered through Calico.

 This iconic vintage fabric features a golden yellow ground with exuberant florals, decorative urns, and colorful pheasant-style birds arranged in vertical stripe panels—a joyful print that perfectly captures the charm of French country and English garden–inspired interiors. Waverly, one of America’s most celebrated textile houses, became famous for bold decorative prints like Rochelle, which remain highly sought after by today’s grandmillennial and maximalist decorators.

The chair itself has a graceful Louis XV–inspired silhouette with a shaped crest rail, open scrolled arms, carved apron, and elegant cabriole legs. The warm wood frame paired with the lively upholstery creates a piece that instantly brightens a room while still feeling timeless and collected.
