Convert your new Heywood-Wakefield bed to a platform bed.
Platform beds are a perfect way to augment your bedroom’s streamlined look, eliminating the bulky appearance created by box springs (mattress foundations). This setup is also optimal for highlighting the elegant mid-century modern look of our beds, with their stylized low headboards and footboards.
This setup also saves you money, as our platform adapter kit isn’t nearly as expensive as a quality queen or king size foundation.
The kit consists of 12 easily installed solid birch slats to be used along with the four slats included with all Heywood-Wakefield beds. The 16 slats provide a strong foundation for your mattress without the added height of a box spring.
