This is not a fragrance for the faint of heart. The oil itself is exceptionally thick, a dark, viscous liquid that feels weighty and deliberate on the skin. The initial opening is a dramatic and surprising juxtaposition: a potent, medicinal bouquet collides with deep, sticky sweetness.Aromatic fumes of smoky oud wood swirl around the sharp, penetrating notes of eucalyptus and the familiar, soothing heat of a camphor-rich muscle rub. Beneath this bracing top layer lies a decadent, syrupy heart. It feels as though thick, runny honey has been poured lavishly over a spoonful of dark cherry jam.This luscious, sticky base is punctuated by the deep sweetness of stewed apricots, prunes, and candied plums. The warmth is further enhanced by the spicy bite of candied ginger and the delicate crunch of both fresh and sugar-coated almonds. All of these rich, candied fruits are grounded by a muted touch of soft oriental spices, adding a final layer of warm complexity without ever overpowering the blend.
