Suehiro Magnesium are stones produced by cold hardening with WA abrasive and magnesium oxide acting as a binder. The stones are then matured for 15-20 years in storage. The hard yet brittle surface of the stone, provides very good polishing properties, comparable to the best natural stones. For best results we recommend using, the included Nagura stone.

Suehiro Magnesium stones are characterized by, high abrasion resistance. Uneven color and discoloration, will be the natural result of magnesium oxide contact with air.

In summary, magnesium oxide can affect various discolorations on the surface of the sharpening stone, but these discolorations do not affect its performance or functionality. They are the result of natural chemical and physical processes occurring in the materials used to produce the stone.
