This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use. 

It measures 123 mm (4.84 inches) long × 85 mm (3.35 inches) wide × 20 mm (0.79 inches) tall, and weighs 379 g (13.37 oz / 0.84 lbs).

Hardness: 4.5Medium hardness, great value Karasu koppa from Aiiwatani. Perfect for handheld honing for touch ups and standalone finishing. This Karasu will self slurry a bit under firm pressure when honing water only. The slurry feels grit rich and has a pleasant satin like texture. This texture is indicative of the progress of particle breakdown and the stone is capable of refinement levels varying from Pre- finish to finisher with extended work and feather light pressure for water only finishing strokes. The lines on the surface may open up in the future and require removal. Priced accordingly and very affordable for the level of rarity, beauty and performance.
