A fine quality satinwood tilt-top occasional table, English, circa 1900, offered in good condition.
This elegant table features a beautifully figured circular satinwood top, cross-banded with walnut, creating a rich contrast that highlights the natural beauty of the selected timbers. The craftsmanship is evident in the careful choice of veneers and the balanced proportions.
The top is mounted on a single turned satinwood column, rising from a bold, triangular platform base. The base is mounted with a decorative brass collar, adding a refined neoclassical detail to the design. Each corner of the platform terminates in a bun foot, providing stability and a graceful silhouette. The top is hinged to tilt vertically, making this table easy to move and store when not in use—a practical feature often found in high-quality occasional furniture of the period.
This table is in very good antique condition, with a polished finish and only minor signs of age, consistent with careful use. A versatile and attractive piece, ideal as a lamp, side or wine table, and suitable for both traditional and eclectic interiors.
A beautifully made piece, showcasing the restrained elegance and superb materials associated with fine Edwardian furniture.
