We discovered this style of weaving and absolutely had to share it with you all. Why is it so shaggy? This type of weaving is used in Guatemala to keep tortillas warm. The shagginess of the fabric helps trap heat to keep the tortillas warmer for longer. We have now used this weaving method to make pillows! How could we not? Our Rosa tortilla tela pillow is a colorful mix of magenta with red, yellow, purple, royal blue and teal threads woven in to add texture and vibrant color.
Ethically handwoven by artisans in Xela, Guatemala.
