Hailing from the illustrious Uji region of Japan, this Samidori matcha will give you a transcendental umami experience. Its flavor profile is marked by deep umami with a subtle note of spring vegetable tips, natural sweetness, and very low bitterness. This matcha is crafted for traditional preparation, making it ideal for both usucha (thin tea) and koicha (thick tea) styles.
Prepping Suggestions: For traditional usucha style, use 1 teaspoon per 4oz of hot water. For Koicha use 2 teaspoons with 2oz of water. For Americano style, use 1/2 teaspoon of matcha powder per 8 ounces of water. Begin whisking a small amount of water with the matcha powder. Top off with hot or cold water.
**We do not recommend using this ceremonial-grade matcha for lattes. Because of its high quality, Samidori is best enjoyed straight, allowing its natural sweetness, deep umami, and smooth character to shine without added milk or sweeteners. It’s the best way to fully appreciate the purity and craftsmanship behind this cultivar.
