An Italian Modern dining chair designed by Luciano Frigerio in the 1970s. The deeply sculpted wooden frame features a gracefully curved slat-back design, providing ergonomic support, while robust, flared legs add stability and ground the form. A wide hide-leather seat is affixed to the frame with concealed brass buckles.
Sold and priced individually.
Luciano Frigerio was an Italian designer, artist, and musician born in Desio, Liguria. His father, Giovanni, established a small cabinet-making workshop there in 1889. Over the years, the workshop developed collaborations with renowned Italian architects and designers, including Franco Albini, Sergio Asti, and later Paolo Portoghesi.
Luciano Frigerio believed that architects could design furniture with the craftsmanship of cabinet makers, rather than solely for large-scale industrial production. This philosophy eventually led the company to open ten showrooms in major Italian cities, including one on Via Montenapoleone in Milan.
