Bacan stone is known as the scientific term Chrysocolla in chalcedony or translated into Indonesian, namely krisokola quartz. The identical green, bluish, and blackish colored Bacan / chrysocole stones are caused by the process of changing the mineral element copper (Au) porphyry. The formation of porphyry deposits is related to hydrothermal processes. These deposits are carried by a solution of high temperature water and deposited under the surface. These porphyry deposits usually form Au metal deposits and are associated with the stockwork system. Stockwork is a condition where minerals accumulate above igneous intrusion and form a complex system of multiple and random veins. The location of these veins causes porphyry ore deposits to form. Usually it is in these deposits that chrysocole can form simultaneously.
