The Naga are a Tibeto-Burman ethnic group in northeast India and Myanmar. This necklace was made in the 1900\'s when this area of the world was under British colonial control and Naga practices were being restricted. This 51, multi-strand luminous blue glass bead necklace holds details that only a master would have such a level of insight. One red shining bead opposes the cotton thread of the clasp, woven over 100 years ago. The British influence is found with the use of the uniquely shaped, worn, colonial rupee coin used for the macrame hook and eye closure. A genuine cultural heirloom, this royal necklace wears beautifully, as if it were made yesterday.
