The Ventaneador Dawn Patrol Coffee Maker is a new take on the classic chorreador that adorns the counters of Costa Rican homes. It takes only 3 minutes to brew a 12-ounce cup! This is a beautiful, adjustable-height drip coffee maker, hand-crafted in Santa Cruz, California by Ventana master artisan, Martijn Stiphout. 

The first edition of the Dawn Patrol is made from Brazilian cherry hardwood offcuts from a flooring project in Corralitos, California. It has a cork bottom and a double thick cork coaster on the base - both made from the cork we use for the rails of Ventana surfboards.

The Dawn Patrol includes two, organic cotton filters or coladores which are held open by salvaged copper wire. Just fill the cotton filter with your desired amount of ground coffee and slowly pour boiling water over it, allowing the coffee to drip into your favorite size coffee mug. Simple rinse the filter with water after your coffee is ready.

Brew a cup before paddling out for a dawn patrol surf session and another when you come home to get ready for the day.

  Reclaimed Brazilian cherry hardwood: The first edition of the Dawn Patrol is crafted from floorboard offcuts from a remodel project in Corralitos, California. Brazilian cherry has a Janka hardness rating of 2350, making it highly durable.

  Ventana Khordz Mug: These are made from 16-ounce glass jars and twenty-five feet of super strong, 550lb Paracord. They have hand-wrapped sleeves with an integrated, hand-tied handle and a metal lid that stays sealed. Khordz Mugs can go in the dishwasher and the microwave (sans lid).
